The summer months bring with them a change in schedule for many people. You may be spending more time traveling or enjoying leisure activities. If you have school-aged children, the loss of your school-year routine may feel disruptive. If you are planning a vacation, you may worry about remembering to take your medications while traveling.

Despite all these changes, it is important to make sure you are taking all medication prescribed to you as you adjust to your summer schedule.

Getting a pill organizer, setting an alarm, or making a medication reminder chart are just a few ways you can help yourself remember to take your medications. Other suggestions include:

  • Getting all of your prescriptions filled by the same pharmacy
  • Setting up automatic refills for your prescriptions
  • Asking your pharmacy to call, email, or text you when your prescriptions are ready to be picked up
