Life for a Child Screen shot of Life for a child website

The Life for a Child programme supports children with diabetes in 26 of the poorest countries around the world. It provides access to care, education, life-saving medicines and supplies. The programme was established by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in partnership with Diabetes Australia-NSW and HOPE worldwide.

Lilly Diabetes, a global leader in diabetes treatment, in cooperation with IDF, produced two documentaries: Life for a Child, which follows the journeys of children with Type 1 diabetes in Nepal, one of the world's poorest countries; and In the Hearts of Africa, which features Congolese children with Type 1 diabetes and follows their day-to-day lives as they struggle to survive in their capital city of Kinshasa.

The films were produced by Lilly Diabetes to raise awareness of the devastating impact of diabetes and to increase support for the Life for a Child programme. Lilly provides financial support and insulin donations for the programme, along with other sponsors and individual donors.
